The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
Almighty God's Truth.
