The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We will now call the guards! 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
