[AND] the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 176 What time Shu'aib said unto them: fear ye not? 177 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 178 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ "Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud). 181 And weigh with the true balance. 182 Wrong not mankind in their goods, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth. 183 And fear Him who created you and all the earlier people." 184 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 185 You are but a human like ourselves, we think that you are one of the liars. 186 Cause, then, fragments of the sky to fall down upon us, if thou art a man of truth!" 187 He said: 'My Lord knows what you are doing' 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Surely, in this is indeed a sign; but most of them would not believe: 190 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 191
