Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
A. L. M. 1 These are verses of the wise Book, 2 Guidance and mercy for the righteous. 3 for those who attend to their prayers and pay the zakat and who have firm faith in the Hereafter: 4 They are on guidance from their Lord, and will prosper. 5 Some men there are who buy diverting talk to lead astray from the way of God without knowledge, and to take it in mockery; those -- there awaits them a humbling chastisement. 6 And when Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to such a one, he turns away in pride, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in his ear. So announce to him a painful torment. 7 Lo! those who believe and do good works, for them are the gardens of delight, 8 To abide therein. It is a Promise of Allah in truth. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. 9 He created the skies without a support, as you can see, and placed stabilisers in the earth that you may dwell at ease as it revolves; and dispersed on it all varieties of creatures, and He sent down water from the skies and grew all kinds of splendid things upon it. 10 This is the creation of Allah; shew me that which those beside Him have created. Aye! the wrong-doers are in error manifest. 11
