And remember Our servant Job: when he cried to his Lord: “Behold, Satan has afflicted me with much hardship and suffering.” 41 [So he was told], "Strike [the ground] with your foot; this is a [spring for] a cool bath and drink." 42 And We bestowed upon him new offspring, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder unto all who are endowed with insight. 43 "And take in thy hand a little grass, and strike therewith: and break not (thy oath)." Truly We found him full of patience and constancy. How excellent in Our service! ever did he turn (to Us)! 44 And remember Our servants -- Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- they were endowed with great strength and vision. 45 We gave them this pure distinction because of their continual remembrance of the Day of Judgment. 46 They were, in Our sight, truly, of the company of the Elect and the Good. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. Every one of them is among the best. 48 This is a reminder. And lo! for those who ward off (evil) is a happy journey's end, 49 The gardens of perpetuity, the doors are opened for them. 50 Reclining within them, they will call therein for abundant fruit and drink. 51 ۞ And with them shall be those restraining their eyes, equals in age. 52 This is what you are promised for the Day of Reckoning: 53 This is Our provision for you, never to end. 54 But the arrogant will have the worst return: 55 They will suffer in hell. What a terrible dwelling! 56 This - so let them taste it - is scalding water and [foul] purulence. 57 and other sufferings of the kind. 58 [And they will say to one another: "Do you see] this crowd of people rushing headlong to join you?" "No welcome to them! Indeed, they are headed for the fire!" 59 They will say to them, "You are not welcome! It was you who brought this on us, an evil place to stay," 60 They say: Our Lord! Whoever did prepare this for us, oh, give him double portion of the Fire! 61 And they will say, "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we used to count among the wicked, 62 Have we taken them in mockery? Or, have our eyes swerved from them?' 63 Such disputes will certainly take place among the dwellers of hell fire. 64
