T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ O MAN! 1 We have not sent down the Quran unto you (O Muhammad SAW) to cause you distress, 2 But as admonition for him who fears -- 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 The Most Beneficent (Allah) Istawa (rose over) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). 5 His is whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever on the earth and whatsoever is in between and whatsoever is underneath the earth. 6 If thou pronounce the word aloud, (it is no matter): for verily He knoweth what is secret and what is yet more hidden. 7 Allah! There is no Allah save Him. His are the most beautiful names. 8 And has the story of Moses reached you? - 9 When he saw a fire and said to his wife, “Wait – I have seen a fire – perhaps I may bring you an ember from it or find a way upon the fire.” 10 And when he reached it, he was called by name: O Moses! 11 "Verily! I am your Lord! So take off your shoes, you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa. 12 "I have chosen thee: listen, then, to the inspiration (sent to thee). 13 Surely I am Allah, there is no god but I, therefore serve Me and keep up prayer for My remembrance: 14 Although it is certain that the Day of Judgment will come, I prefer to keep it almost a secret so that every soul will receive the recompense for what it has done (on its own). 15 Therefor, let not him turn thee aside from (the thought of) it who believeth not therein but followeth his own desire, lest thou perish. 16 And what is that in your right hand, O Moses?" 17 He replied, "It is my staff. I lean on it, bring down leaves for my sheep with it and I need it for other reasons. 18 Said He, 'Cast it down, Moses!' 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent running along. 20 The Lord said, "Hold the serpent and do not be afraid; We will bring it back to its original form." 21 And face what is to come with patience, your hand will not be tarnished with blame: Another sign 22 for We shall show you some of Our greatest Signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent.' 24
