The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 And who are givers of poor-rate, 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;- 7 Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants; 8 And those who keep a guard on their prayers; 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 who will inherit Paradise; they shall live there for ever. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Then after that you shall surely die, 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. 21 and by them - as by the ships [over the sea] - you are borne [overland]. 22

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
