The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
