At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut, 61 He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown." 62 They said: Nay, we have come to you with that about which they disputed. 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 so leave with your family some time in the latter part of the night, and walk behind them. Let none of you look back. Go where you are commanded." 65 And We revealed to him this decree, that the roots of these shall be cut off in the morning. 66 And there came the people of the city rejoicing 67 rushed towards the house of Lot. Lot said to them, "These are my guests. Do not disgrace me. 68 Fear God and do not shame me." 69 They said, 'Have we not forbidden thee all beings?' 70 He said, 'These are my daughters, if you would be doing.' 71 By thy life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement, 72 and the Cry seized them at the sunrise, 73 And We turned the township upside down and rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Verily, in all this there are messages indeed for those who can read the signs: 75 And surely it is on a road that still abides. 76 Surely, in that there is a sign for those who believe. 77 The dwellers of the Thicket were harmdoers. 78 So We took vengeance on them. And verily both are on a high-road open. 79
