By the moon, 32 by the retreating night, 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 who will be in Paradise 40 About the criminals, 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until death approached us". 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
