The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
