The nobles of Pharaoh said: "He surely is a clever magician. 109 and said, "He wants to expel you from your land." They asked (others), " what is your opinion in the matter? 110 They said: Put him off and his brother, and send collectors into the cities: 111 who shall bring before thee every sorcerer of great knowledge." 112 And the enchanters came to Firon (and) said: We must surely have a reward if we are the prevailing ones. 113 Answered [Pharaoh]: "Yes; and verily, you shall be among those who are near unto me." 114 They said: O Musa! will you cast, or shall we be the first to cast? 115 Moses said: 'You throw.' So when they threw [their rods], they enchanted the eyes of the people, and struck them with awe, and produced a mighty sorcery. 116 Then We revealed to Moses: 'Now, throw down your staff' And thereupon it swallowed up their false invention. 117 ۞ So the truth was established, and abolished was what they were doing. 118 They were therefore defeated here and they turned back humiliated. 119 And the sorcerers fell down prostrate. 120 Saying: "We believe in the Lord of the Worlds,- 121 "The Lord of Moses and Aaron." 122 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "You have believed in him [Musa (Moses)] before I give you permission. Surely, this is a plot which you have plotted in the city to drive out its people, but you shall come to know. 123 "Surely, I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, then I will crucify you all." 124 The magicians said, "We will certainly return to Our Lord. 125 You would take revenge on us only because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us.
