Hizb 46

And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 He fled to the overloaded ship. 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised; 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him. 146 Then We sent him to a hundred thousand or more, 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 (Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? 149 Did We create the angels females, to which they were witnesses? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 but not so the true servants of God, 160 So surely you and what you worship, 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 except those who will burn in Hell. 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 And verily we! we hallow. 166 They say, 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 and see them [for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it lights in their courtyard, how evil will be the morning of them that are warned! 177 And turn thou aside from them for a season. 178 and see, soon they shall see! 179 LIMITLESS in His glory is thy Sustainer, the Lord of almightiness, [exalted] above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
