And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They said, "We worship idols and will continue to cling to them." 71 He asked them, "Can the idols hear you when you pray to them 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 "You and your ancient fathers? 76 Verily they are an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the worlds. 77 "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 and He gives me to eat and drink, 79 “And when I fall ill, so it is He Who heals me.” 80 And Who causeth me to die, then giveth me life (again), 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And uphold my name with posterity, 84 and place me amongst the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 85 And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray; 86 Do not degrade me on the Day when they are resurrected. 87 "The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 Unless it be he, who shall bring unto Allah a whole heart, 89 (On that Day) the Garden will be brought near to the God-fearing, 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 And it will be said to them: "Where are those (the false gods whom you used to set up as rivals with Allah) that you used to worship 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 "Quarrelling therein with each other, 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 And none but the guilty led us astray; 99 so now we have no intercessors, 100 Nor a true friend; 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 104

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
