Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
