۞ And when the son of Maryam is held up, an example, behold! thy people thereat cry out. 57 And say: Are our gods better, or is he? They raise not the objection save for argument. Nay! but they are a contentious folk. 58 Jesus was a servant of Ours to whom We had granted favors and whom We made as an example for the Israelites. 59 If We pleased We could have put angels in place of you as trustees on the earth. 60 And most surely it is a knowledge of the hour, therefore have no doubt about it and follow me: this is the right path. 61 And do not ever let the devil stop you; he is indeed your open enemy. 62 And when Isa came with clear arguments he said: I have come to you indeed with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you part of what you differ in; so be careful of (your duty to) Allah and obey me: 63 “Allah is indeed my Lord, and yours – therefore worship Him; this is the Straight Path.” 64 Yet the parties differed among themselves. So woe to those who did evil among the punishment of a Painful Day. 65 Are they looking for aught but the Hour, that it shall come upon them suddenly, when they are not aware? 66 Friends on that day will be foes one to another, save those who kept their duty (to Allah). 67
