Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the Envoys; 139 When he left towards the laden ship. 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. 142 And had he not been of those who [even in the deep darkness of their distress are able to] extol God's limitless glory, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a bare desert whilst he was sick. 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 Will you not then remember? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 And they have made between Him and the jinn a kinship whereas the jinn assuredly know that they are to be brought up 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 can lure away from God any 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 And most surely we are they who draw themselves out in ranks, 165 We glorify God." 166 What, would they then say: 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 “We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.” 169 but they have rejected it, [the Quran] and they shall soon learn! 170 Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- 171 assuredly they shall be helped, 172 and that Our hosts shall triumph. 173 (Muhammad), stay away from them for a while 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it lights in their courtyard, how evil will be the morning of them that are warned! 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 And see, for they are going to see. 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
