The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves; 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 And they who are observant of zakah 4 who guard their privates, 5 Except from their wives or the legal bondwomen that they possess, for then there is no blame upon them. 6 (but whosoever seeks after more than that, those are the transgressors) 7 And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant, 8 and who guard their Prayers. 9 They are the inheritors. 10 Who will inherit Paradise, and live in it for ever. 11 Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 Then We created of the drop, a clot (of congealed blood) and We created the clot into bitesize tissue, then We created the bitesize tissue into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it an other creation. Blessed is Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 Then through water We caused gardens of date-palms and vines to grow for you wherein you have an abundance of delicious fruits and from them you derive your livelihood. 19 Also, a tree which grows on the Tor of Sinai and gives oil and relish for its eaters. 20 And in cattle (too) ye have an instructive example: from within their bodies We produce (milk) for you to drink; there are, in them, (besides), numerous (other) benefits for you; and of their (meat) ye eat; 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
