Nay, by the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 about the sinners. 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
