The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And rejects the best, 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
