Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 A warning to mankind, 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 Till death overtook us. 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
