Nay, by the moon, 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 About the criminals, 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
