The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
