Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
