Those who have gone before them had also conspired; then God uprooted their structure from its foundation; the roof fell over them from above, and punishment came upon them from somewhere they did not suspect. 26 Then on the Day of Resurrection He will disgrace them, and say, "Where are My partners for whose sake you opposed [My guidance]?" Those given knowledge will say, "This Day humiliation and affliction will surely befall those who have been denying the truth." 27 Those whose lives the angels take while they are wronging their own souls will offer submission saying, "We were not doing anything evil!" "Indeed!" the angels will reply, "God is aware of what you have been doing, 28 so enter the gates of Hell. There you shall abide forever." Evil indeed is the abode of the arrogant. 29 ۞ And it shall be said to the godfearing, 'What has your Lord sent down?' They will say, 'Good! For those who do good in this world good; and surely the abode of the world to come is better; excellent is the abode of the godfearing -- 30 Gardens of perpetual residence, which they will enter, beneath which rivers flow. They will have therein whatever they wish. Thus does Allah reward the righteous - 31 whom the angels take while they are goodly, saying: 'Peace be on you. Enter Paradise for what you were doing' 32 They do not wait aught but that the angels should come to them or that the commandment of your Lord should come to pass. Thus did those before them; and Allah was not unjust to them, but they were unjust to themselves. 33 Then, the evil results of their deeds overtook them, and that at which they used to mock surrounded them. 34
