The Wall (Al-Hujuraat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ O ye who believe! be not forward in the presence of Allah and His apostle, and fear Allah; verily Allah is Hearing, Knowing. 1 O you who believe, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, and do not speak loudly to him as you do with one another lest your deeds are nullified unconsciously. 2 Verily those who lower their voices in the presence of the apostle of Allah - those are they whose hearts Allah hath disposed unto piety: theirs will be forgiveness and a mighty hire. 3 those who call out to you from outside your apartments are lacking in understanding. 4 And had they had patience till thou camest forth unto them, it had surely been best for them; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 5 O believers, if an ungodly man comes to you with a tiding, make clear, lest you afflict a people unwittingly, and then repent of what you have done. 6 And know that among you is the Messenger of Allah. If he were to obey you in much of the matter, you would be in difficulty, but Allah has endeared to you the faith and has made it pleasing in your hearts and has made hateful to you disbelief, defiance and disobedience. Those are the [rightly] guided. 7 [It is] as bounty from Allah and favor. And Allah is Knowing and Wise. 8 And if two factions among the believers should fight, then make settlement between the two. But if one of them oppresses the other, then fight against the one that oppresses until it returns to the ordinance of Allah. And if it returns, then make settlement between them in justice and act justly. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly. 9 The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy. 10
