۞ And when the example of the son of Maryam is given, your people laugh at it! 57 "Are our gods any better than Jesus (for according to Muhammad), if our gods go to hell so too will Jesus. What they say is only a false argument. In fact, they are a quarrelsome people. 58 Jesus was a servant of Ours to whom We had granted favors and whom We made as an example for the Israelites. 59 And if We please, We could make among you angels to be successors in the land. 60 And indeed, Jesus will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me. This is a straight path. 61 And let not Shaitan (Satan) hinder you (from the right religion, i.e. Islamic Monotheism), Verily, he (Satan) to you is a plain enemy. 62 And when Isa came with clear arguments he said: I have come to you indeed with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you part of what you differ in; so be careful of (your duty to) Allah and obey me: 63 Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is a straight path." 64 But the parties among them fell into variance; so woe unto those who did evil, because of the chastisement of a painful day. 65 Are they waiting except for the Hour to come upon them suddenly while they perceive not? 66 On that Day, [erstwhile] friends will be foes unto one another - [all] save the God-conscious. 67
