A numerous company from among the first, 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 41 In scorching wind and boiling hot water. 42 scalding water and under a shadow of black smoke, 43 (That shadow) neither cool, nor (even) good, 44 Verily, before that, they indulged in luxury, 45 But persisted in that greater sin, 46 It was they who said, "Shall we be resurrected after we die and have turned into dust and bones? 47 Will our ancient forefathers be resurrected too? 48 (Muhammad), say, "All the ancient and later generations 49 "All will certainly be gathered together for the meeting appointed for a Day well-known. 50 Then lo! ye, the erring, the deniers, 51 Shall surely eat of the tree of Az-Zqqum. 52 And filling with it your bellies 53 and shall drink boiling water on top of that. 54 and you will drink as the lapping of thirsty camels. 55 This is their entertainment on the day of requital. 56 We created you, then why do you believe not? 57 Behold! that which ye emit. 58 Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator? 59 We mete out death among you, and We are not to be outrun, 60 In the matter of exchanging you for others, and to transform you into what you do not know. 61 And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember? 62 Have ye seen that which ye cultivate? 63 Do you yourselves sow it, or are We the Sowers? 64 If We will We can make it like dry trampled hay, so you would keep crying out. 65 crying, "We have been left to suffer loss. 66 Surely, we have been deprived (of the benefits)". 67 Have you ever considered the water which you drink? 68 Is it you who cause it to come down from the clouds - or are We the cause of its coming down? 69 Did We will, We would make it bitter; so why are you not thankful? 70 Have you seen the fire which you kindle? 71 Produce ye the tree thereof, or are We the Producer? 72 We have made it a reminder and an advantage for the wayfarers of the desert. 73 So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great. 74
