The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
