Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 and caused his offspring to endure [on earth]; 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 Peace be with Noah among all men in the worlds. 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the others 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he glanced a glance on the stars. 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 Then he turned to their aliha (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 So the disbelievers came running towards him. 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 whereupon We gave him the glad tiding of a boy-child gentle [like himself]? 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 Peace be on Ibrahim. 109 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac, and from their offspring are some gooddoers, and others who clearly wronged themselves. 113
