The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 and believes in the finest, 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
