Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 And goblets set at hand 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
