The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 Created man, 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
