And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye? 70 They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.” 71 (Abraham) asked: "Do they hear when you call them? 72 "Or do you good or harm?" 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said: 'Have you considered what you worship, 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds, 77 who created me. It is He who guides me; 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me, 80 "Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again); 81 "And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)," 82 Lord, grant me authority. Join me to the righteous ones. 83 give me a good name among later generations; 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight; 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 but only he that brings to Allah a sound heart will (attain to success)." 89 And Paradise will be brought close for the pious. 90 And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators, 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 “By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error.” 97 "'When we held you as equals with the Lord of the Worlds; 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 so now we have no intercessors, 100 nor a loving friend. 101 Would that we could have a chance to live again so that we might become believers." 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And indeed your Lord only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
