The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 The closing night, 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
