Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
