The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 And who do not incline towards indecent matters. 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 These! they are the inheritors. 10 who will inherit Paradise; they shall live there for ever. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 then We made him, a drop, in a secure receptacle (the womb). 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Then after that you will most surely die. 15 Then (again), surely, you will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away. 18 So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. 19 And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters. 20 And indeed in the cattle is a lesson for you; We give you to drink what is in their bellies, and there are many benefits for you in them, and in them is your food. 21 and you ride on them as you do in ships. 22
