The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He created man 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
