Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the pages are made public 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 and the night that falls, 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
