And (remember) when you (Muhammad SAW) left your household in the morning to post the believers at their stations for the battle (of Uhud). And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower. 121 When two parties from among you had determined that they should show cowardice, and Allah was the guardian of them both, and in Allah should the believers trust. 122 Allah had helped you at Badr, when ye were a contemptible little force; then fear Allah; thus May ye show your gratitude. 123 [Remember] when you said to the believers, "Is it not sufficient for you that your Lord should reinforce you with three thousand angels sent down? 124 Indeed if you are patient and take heed for yourselves, and the (enemy) come rushing at you suddenly your Lord will send even five thousand angels on chargers sweeping down." 125 and God ordained this only as good news for you so that your hearts might be comforted, help comes only from God, the Powerful, the Wise One, 126 That He might cut off a part of those who disbelieve, or expose them to infamy, so that they retire frustrated. 127 Not for thee, (but for Allah), is the decision: Whether He turn in mercy to them, or punish them; for they are indeed wrong-doers. 128 To Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. He forgives whom He will and punishes whom He will. Allah is Forgiving, the Most Merciful. 129
