In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 that he sees himself sufficed. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We also shall call the infernal guards. 18 No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh. ۩ 19
