The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Mount, 1 And by the Book Inscribed. 2 In parchment unrolled. 3 And [by] the frequented House 4 By the roof elevated. 5 And by the Ocean filled with Swell;- 6 Most surely the punishment of your Lord will come to pass; 7 and no one will be able to prevent it. 8 On the Day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion. 9 And the mountains move away with (awful) movement, 10 Then woe that Day to the beliers; 11 all those who [throughout their lives] but idly played with things vain 12 The day on which they shall be driven away to the fire of hell with violence. 13 and they will be told, "This is the fire which you called a lie. 14 “So is this magic, or are you unable to see?” 15 Go now and burn in it. It is all the same whether you bear it patiently or do not bear it with patience. You are only being recompensed for your deeds.” 16 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and bliss 17 Enjoying in that which their Lord has bestowed on them, and (the fact that) their Lord saved them from the torment of the blazing Fire. 18 "Eat and drink with relish," (they will be told), (as recompense) for what you had done." 19 reclining on couches arranged in rows. And We shall wed them to fair maidens with large beautiful eyes. 20 And as for those who have attained to faith and whose offspring will have followed them in faith, We shall unite them with their offspring; and We shall not let aught of their deeds go to waste: [but] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever he has earned. 21 And We provide them with fruit and meat such as they desire. 22 There, they shall pass from hand to hand a cup which does not lead to any idle talk or sin. 23 ۞ And there will go round boy-servants of theirs, to serve them as if they were preserved pearls. 24 And some of them draw near to others, questioning. 25 They will say: "Aforetime, we were not without fear for the sake of our people. 26 But God has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of scorching wind. 27 we were before ever calling upon Him; surely He is the All-benign, the All-compassionate.' 28
