Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Woe to the liars 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
