The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 2 who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous; 3 And who are payers of the poor-due; 4 who guard their privates, 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 Those who desire to go beyond such limits they commit transgression, 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 to their promise, 9 These will be the heirs, 10 Those who will get the inheritance of Paradise; they will abide in it forever. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 And We sent down out of heaven water in measure and lodged it in the earth; and We are able to take it away. 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 and a tree issuing from the Mount of Sinai that bears oil and seasoning for all to eat. 20 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
