Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24
Never have We sent a Prophet to a place without trying its people with adversity and hardship that they may humble themselves. 94 Then We exchanged in place of the bad [condition], good, until they increased [and prospered] and said, "Our fathers [also] were touched with hardship and ease." So We seized them suddenly while they did not perceive. 95 Had the people of those towns believed and been God-fearing, We would certainly have opened up to them blessings from the heavens and the earth; but they gave the lie [to their Prophets] and so We seized them for their deeds. so. 96 Are the people of the townships then secure from the coming of Our wrath upon them as a night-raid while they sleep? 97 Or, do they feel secure against the coming of Our punishment upon them in the forenoon while they are at play? 98 Are they then secure from Allah's scheme? None deemeth himself secure from Allah's scheme save folk that perish. 99
