Al-Najm 3 of 3
Did you (O Muhammad SAW) observe him who turned away (from Islam). 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
