20 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Pen (Al-Qalam) before The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O thou folded in garments! 1 stand up to pray for much of the night. 2 half of it, or reduce it a little; 3 or add to it [at will]; and [during that time] recite the Qur'an calmly and distinctly, with thy mind attuned to its meaning. 4 Behold, We shall cast upon thee a weighty word; 5 Lo! the vigil of the night is (a time) when impression is more keen and speech more certain. 6 Indeed during the day you have a long schedule of occupations. 7 Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Lord of the eastern and western regions, with due sincerity. 8 Lord of the East and the West; there is no god but He; so take Him for a Guardian. 9 And bear with patience what they utter, and part from them with a fair leave-taking. 10 Leave it to Me to deal with the deniers, who live a life of comfort, and bear with them a little longer. 11 We have in store for them heavy fetters and a blazing Fire, 12 And a food that chokes, and a painful torment. 13 On a Day whereon the earth and the mountains shall quake, and the mountains shall become a sand-heap poured forth. 14 We have sent you a Messenger, who will witness your deeds, just as We sent a Messenger to the Pharaoh. 15 In response Firaun disobeyed the Noble Messenger, so We seized him with a severe seizure. 16 Then how shall ye, if ye deny (Allah), guard yourselves against a Day that will make children hoary-headed?- 17 Whereon the sky will be cleft asunder? His Promise needs must be accomplished. 18 Indeed, this is a reminder, so whoever wills may take to his Lord a way. 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
