Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha Mim! 1 A revelation from the most benevolent, ever-merciful, 2 A Book, the verses of which are distinguished, an Arabic Koran for a nation who know. 3 good tidings to bear, and warning, but most of them have turned away, and do not give ear. 4 And they say, “Our hearts are covered against the affair you call us to, and there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us and you – therefore mind your own business, we are minding ours.” 5 Say: 'I am only a mortal, like you are. To me it has been revealed that your God is One God; so go straight with Him, and ask for His forgiveness; and woe to the idolaters 6 Those who do not give the obligatory charity, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 As to those who have faith and do good works, surely theirs shall be a never-ending reward. 8
