Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 CONSIDER this divine writ, clear in itself and clearly showing the truth: 2 We have indeed sent it as a Qur’an in the Arabic language, so that you may understand. 3 And the Qur’an is undoubtedly, in the Original Book with Us, surely the exalted, full of wisdom. 4 Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people? 5 And how many Prophets We did send among the earlier people! 6 no Prophet came to them except that they mocked him, 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier than these; such was the example of the earlier peoples. 8 If thou wert to question them, 'Who created the heavens and the earth?' They would be sure to reply, 'they were created by (Him), the Exalted in Power, Full of Knowledge';- 9 The One Who made the earth a bed for you, and made roads for you in it, so that you may be guided. 10 And Who sends down water (rain) from the sky in due measure. Then We revive a dead land therewith, and even so you will be brought forth (from the dead), 11 it is He who created all living things in pairs and gave you ships to sail in and beasts to ride upon 12 so that you can sit upon their backs and then remember the Favors of your Lord and say: 'Exaltations to Him who has subjected these to us otherwise, we ourselves were not capable of it, 13 “And indeed we have to return to our Lord.” 14 Yet they assign to Him some of His own (created) worshipers! Clearly, the human is unthankful. 15
