Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
